Climbers on Chopicalqui

Climbers on Chopicalqui

Tiny climbers are visible in this photo on the upper snowfield just below the right-hand ridge, giving Chopicalqui's massive face a sense of scale. The climbers are descending the normal SW ridge route. Photo taken from the edge of the glacier above moraine camp, July 8, 2007 by Howie Silleck.

Fantastico!

I've always loved images of tiny climbers and massive mountains-- have you seen Galen Rowell's shot: "Three Climbers on Everest?"

These images are both humbling and appropriate in scale of importance.
