Re: :-)>Lots of bold critters in MRNP. Our climbing group did the approach separately. About 30 minute after the folks in the photo packed up and left the shelter, I came along to find a Marmot checking out the inside of the shelter, obviously looking for human snacks.
I hiked the Wonderland trail in 2000 and really enjoyed all of the scenery in the park. The only animal common to the park we didn't we were black bears, but just about everyone else we came across who was doing the 93 mile circumnavigating Wonderland Trail did see bears, often moms & cubs. Cool and scary all at the same time.
