West Chute  Sucess!

Great day hike. Climbed up from Chocolate Lakes. Stayed mostly on the 4th class slabs on the left side of the chute - fun scrambling! Great views of the Palisades. Descended to green lake. First time I've hiked/climbed in the Sierra and never encountered one person all day! Was even more surprising given the popularity of the S. Lake/Bishop Pass area.

From the North Slope/Ridge  Sucess!

I climbed this one day thinking it would be a part of like four peaks total, but I got hella lost. I wound up cruising along the north ridge which wandered me past two other summit registers that hadn't been signed in like fifteen years! One was informally called "Thunder and Lightning Peak," and the other was something like Peak 13,112 (basically a bump on the ridge). Either way I found some really fun climbing before those peaks along the ridge. And the view of the Palisades from Cloudripper is so sweet!

45 minutes  Sucess!

Perfect day for a summit climb. Came up from 7th Lake and the worst of it was the nasty mile up a scree slope which took us only 45 minutes!

A quicky from 4th Lake  Sucess!

We, myself & my W.P.'s Jackie & Steve Neau, & Cindy Thaw, hiked/climbed the talus field adjacent to 7th Lake,(large talus), then up the talus slope to the saddle, then up the talus NE ridge to the summit. Beautiful windless warm day ! It's always great to get "high"! Duck Soup !

West face from Chocolate Lakes  Sucess!

Nice short scramble up, though I topped out on Vagabond instead. The talus descent to Green Lake sucked on the return, though.

rippin it up  Sucess!

great loop hike, easily accessible from south lake trailhead - climbed west chute, basically just an extension of the ridge formed by chocolate peak that divides ruwau and chocolate(?) lakes - then traversed ridge to cloudripper and vagabond and descended via green lake and then cross-country to the parking lot - great day out
