Clouds above South Willow Peak

Clouds above South Willow Peak

Seen looking north from the summit of Deseret Peak. You can also see the smoke from the July 21 2007 wildfire in the North Willow area

Looks like two separate forest fires

There is also one on the right that has to be a separate fire.

Re: Looks like two separate forest fires

Yes, there's the one on the left and the larger one on the right (which is actually the one I was referring to). Actually, from the Grantsville area on the drive to the trailhead, you could see that the smoke that in this photo is on the right is actually coming from the largest of three separate fires in that area, making a total of four. Bad day for the trees.

Re: Nice clouds

Thanks! It took some bracketing, since my poor excuse for a light-meter (i.e. the LCD display) on my camera was hard to see in the bright sun.

Great photo of recent fires...

Yes, summertime lightning storms RAKE this Tooele County range quite often. HEY - my brother, (living in Grantsville), could see this fire from west end of town. GREAT SHOT! Both of the clouds & the four fires. WOW! (The mountain rising in the foreground is South Willow Peak.)

Re: Great photo of recent fires...

Thank you for the compliment and the information. I will change the title so that it no longer says "unnamed mountain."
