Clouds with an attitude
The day before Tangent Peak, I was in the Black Pine Mountains to get the highest peak. While we were on the summit, out of nowhere a storm built up and we were literally running down the mountain to drop elevation to get away from this monster that was building up above us. While we listened to the thunder above us, no bolts came close but we just reached my truck when the heavens opened and literally poured. The drive out on clay roads was a bit of an adventure. We were wearing orange caps to let hunters in the area (if any) that we weren't edible. What a contrast to the next day on Tangent Peak with blue skies and dry roads.

The same thing happened to me twice in the Black Pine Mountains. I’ll have to return later. That summit ridge isn’t a good place to be during a storm.

Yep, the same thing happened (last Saturday)
down here in Arizona, but it didn't last long.

We were having an outdoor barbecue beneath a
ramada, and the lightning and hailstones
leaped all around us...

But boy, that hot dog tasted great !!! ; )
