Coalpit Gulch - North Thunder Mountain

Two-thirds of the way up Coalpit Gulch, the boulder field gives way to a small, flat oasis. Most of the area has been destroyed by large avalanches, but it provides a comfortable resting area for the final push to the top. We climbed the boulder field to the low point on the left. From there, we took the ridge to the top. 9/9/06.
