Went up the Class 4 route that felt slightly harder and descended another Class 5 that would have been harder to upclimb - never very exposed though. Part of Cathedral Traverse.
This was a day outing to traverse part of the Cathedral traverse. We hit Unicorn, and then this. Great day! All 5.easy soloable stuff if you're comfortable at mid fifth.
Approached from the north ridge and came under the large east face and around the southern edge of the Cockscomb, went up the large chute at the southern edge of the west face and scrambled through the towering ramparts toward the summit. A few technical moves to gain the summit. Maybe a little more difficult than Unicorn Peak but just as fun. A solid rush.
Route Climbed: 4th class Date Climbed: Jul 11, 2004
Came around from unicorn/althuski and then on to the Echo Ridge and Echo Peaks after summiting the Cockscomb. The Cockscomb was definitely the highlight of an awesome day!
Route Climbed: West Face Date Climbed: Sep 23, 2005
Airy climb! Final peak of the day for Glenn and I, after tagging Tresidder, Columbia Finger, Echo Peaks #3, and Echo Ridge. Outstanding day--along with the Thunderbolt-North Pal traverse, perhaps the best all year.
