Coe Glacier, Mt. Hood

Coe Glacier, Mt. Hood
This is the Coe Glacier on Oregon's Mt. Hood, taken March 13 2005 in a very low snow year.

The normal route through the center was melted out, so we climbed more or less the right edge, angling center near the top.

The steepness does not show in this image. We had 4-5 pitches of 45-50 degree hard snow, and alpine ice that took screws near the top.

Did you approach the glacier from cloud cap road? How long of an approach was it?
