Coire's to the east of Ben Macdhui
A view of the deep coires and cliffs to the east of Ben Macdhui, including Coire Etachahan in the centre, September 2007, from the west slopes of Beinn a'Bhuird. This is some of the highest ground in the UK and the high lochs in this area stay frozen until well into the summer and the climate and vegetation is sub-arctic. The high ridge running to the left of the photo leads up to the summit of Macdui, to the right is Beinn Mheadhoin.
