Colchuck Peak's North Buttress and Northwest Face as seen from the Lake Stuart Trailhead on April 19, 2003. This is about as good a view as you can get of Colchuck from the hemmed-in-by-trees trailhead. The North Buttress Couloir (NBC) comes up from behind the tallest tree at left to a point someplace just above the tip of the tree at center. From there, the typical winter/spring finish is via the Northwest Face through the little snow couloir/notch just below the summit.
