Good trail except for the last half mile through the talus. Still a great hike. Excellent views. Get out early before the afternoon storms. Beautiful wildflowers and shady forest along the first part of the trail. Interesting mine ruins. Also stopped at the museum in Hahn's Peak village to learn more about the area.

snowy fun
climbed sans snowshoes on a few feet of snow by myself... did not prove to be too difficult. wonderful vistas from the top! the descent was very easy with all the snow; i bounced my way down in about an hour.
