Continental Divide from Mount Stimson

Continental Divide from Mount Stimson

Closeup and cropped view of the Continental Divide from Mount Stimson. An amazing trail runs on this side of the ridge. Mount Tinkham is the close triangular peak on the left, behind it is Mount McClintok and Red Mountain. Directly to the right of McClintok is Cut Bank Pass. The peak to the right is Mount Morgan. The matterhorn on the right is Flinch Peak with Rising Wolf 'rising' behind it. To the right of these peaks is Dawson Pass. The NPS trail comes up from Two Medicine to Dawson Pass, and then runs below the large cliffs of Flinch Peak over to Cut Bank Pass. It has views comparable or better than the famed Highline Trail and is far more remote. I call it the 'southern highline'.

Southern Highline, indeed!

Good name! Anyone never having seen the views from the Dawson and Cut Bank Passes has a real treat in store...but you've got to get there to see it!!!!
