Voted 10/10 | Coonowrin is very impressive. Do you plan to put up a page about that one?
Nice photo by the way. | | Posted Sep 17, 2005 5:05 pm |

Hasn't voted | Hi Corax,
I'm not sure what to do about Coonowrin at the moment. Climbing is banned on it at present - and has been since I've lived up here so I have neither climbed it or attempted to climb it. I've been thinking maybe to just put some more info and photos of Coonowrin, Ngungun and some of the other climbs in the area under miscellaneous info on the Tibrogargan and Beerwah pages - What do you think? | | Posted Sep 20, 2005 8:57 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Why is it not allowed to climb the peak?
In general, I have heard many voices against putting up pages about mountains you can't climb, but as long as the info is interesting and thorough, I can't see any reasons not to. It's not all about climbing, it's about mountains!
I have two non-climbable mountains in my stable - Kailash and Meili Shue Shan. | | Posted Sep 21, 2005 5:15 am |

Voted 10/10 | If the access is closed too close to it then that means you can pass them up and go climb it.. they won't even see you on route!!

I suppose that sooner or later my anarchistic instincts will get the better of me and I will go ahead and climb the bastard.
I'm reluctant to go with my instincts out of respect for the local climbers who have been very patiently trying to work with the local council and the National Parks to get a resolution to the issue. It's not for a smartarse newcomer to the area like me to go around treading on toes etc.
Cheers, Mate

Hasn't voted | No. Its been climbed ´countless times. There are two fairly easy routes up it despite it´s appearance. The south face is one of the classic climbs of Queeensland. It´s only in recent years that the climbing ban has been introduced. | | Posted Jan 30, 2008 1:53 am |
