4th of July climb  Sucess!

Climbed to the top with a fairly large group. Pretty easy going up the Southwest ridge (coming up from Smout Creek area) until you break the timberline before the peak, then it's a shale scramble the rest of the way up, large shale pieces that you can clearly climb, not rubble or gravel. The ticks were absolutely everywhere. I flicked over a dozen off, same with everyone else in the group. They were concentrated on the shale area.

There are a number of false peaks while climbing the rocks the make up the peak. The view is amazing. This mountain has a great prominence compared to others around it.

Copperhead Peak  Sucess!

Great day, no wind, no rain, beautiful. Via SW ridge. Solo. Will be 69 in 2 weeks. Not too bad, eh.

Route Climbed: Southeast ridge Date Climbed: July 22, 2005.  Sucess!

A little bit of everything thrown at me. Could not find my sunscreen, a tougher route than expected, an unknown descent route, barely dodged a thunder shower, almost stepped on a rattlesnake. Nothing dull about this one.
