I lived in Herndon, VA for a few years, never heard of Great Falls NP. Where abouts is it?

You're going to hate hearing this if you were climbing back then, but Great Falls is a drive of 15-20 minutes from Herndon. It's along the Potomac, and the gorge is full of cliffs with single-pitch routes from 5.0-5.12. It's a kayaker's paradise as well. I go for both. :-)

I left VA

just before my 16th birthday. Didn't start climbing until college at the UW in Seattle.
