Ridge RunStarted at Timber Lake TH, hiked to the valley separating Jackstraw and Ida and bushwhacked to treeline, then traversed Ida, Chief Cheley, PT 12820 and Cractop to Julian. Lots of scrambling and interlocking grass ledges from Cractop to Julian, fun stuff! Also climbed Jackstraw and Gray Jay on the way down, long day! Lots of wildlife: elk, deer, moose and bighorn all present today!

From Chief CheleyPretty straight forward. You can either stay on the ridge across or drop to Highest Lake and head back up. Either way it's not much more than a walk.

Route climbed: from IdaCracktop was my 79th Rocky Mountain National park summit. We came over Ida and continued to Terra Tomah. It was long a memorable day and a half in the park.
