Crater Lake from 34,000 feet. I just happened to have my camera with me when I looked down and saw this amazing sight. Wizard Island at the top right of the lake. Taken on 6-13-99 with an Olympus digital camera

Is that the wing tip of a 737-200?

...just kidding!

Nice shot Dean.

Thanks Radek. You know, I'm trying to remember what airline that was taken on and I think it was southwest. Do they fly the 200 model? I know they fly 737's.

hmmmmm - not sure :)

I'm not familiar enough with Crater Lake to know whether you're heading north or south? And if so, what is that peak near the left edge of the photo?

Cool shot!

I was flying north to Portland at the time I snapped this pic. The peak at the left should be Mt.Scott.

Thanks Dean. So the one at the extreme left edge might be McLaughlin?

You know, I didn't even notice that peak until you mentioned it. That is most likely McLaughlin. I drove down to Medford via Bend this past week and had a great view of McLaughlin from the west side just north of Medford. I hadn't seen McL from that angle before. Its really a neat looking peak.
