Crested Sheild Fern (Dryopteris cristata)
Dryopteris cristata is found in wet meadows and swamps in forests across Canada and south to northern Idaho and Montana and much of the eastern U.S. Generally it is uncommon or rare in most of these areas. This photo taken at Kaniksu Marsh in northern Idaho. July 1997
