Crevasses and serracs
From Aosta hut you rise about 250 meters over the morrain. then you will meet the serracs to rise on the upper plateu of the Grand Murailles glacer.
In the summer 2007 the way up was quite on the left, mainly on steeped ice.
On the way up the crevasses can overcome quite easily. But be very carefull during the way down.
With the sun the snow melt and the ice is exposed and dengerouse.
It took us some time to safely deswcend this 100 meters of the glacer
