Crossing the Dolomites

Cinque Torri
Cinque Torri, great climbing!
By late August 2007, I had just spent a week of climbing in the eastern Dolomites, and had a week to get to Vent, where I would meet some fellow countrymen to go mountaineering in the Ötztal area.

And so I hiked west across the Dolomites, passing the Prags, Fanes and Puez-Geisler ranges. A beautiful part of the Alps!

At that point, I was running out of time a bit, so I used public transport from Klausen to Naturns, west of Meran. From there I hiked the rest of the way again.

This album collects the Dolomites pictures.

There are many, both alpine huts in the mountains and all types of accommodation in the valleys. Here is a list of where I stayed.

  • Gasthof Brückele

  • Rifugio Lavarella

  • Heiligkreuz Hospiz

  • Schlüterhütte
