Crux on White Baldy east ridge | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
The crux on White Baldy's east ridge, the final ascent of the Bullion Divide route. On the ascent, I didn't like the looks of steep granite cloaked with trees. I downclimbed 100', traversed west, and regained the ridge west of White Baldy. On the descent I could see the terrain better and found a class 4 route around this crux. Hasn't voted | I went east to west, from Sugarloaf to White Baldy. I notice you did the same but started with Devils Castle - was that tricky without a rope?(or did you rope up?) | | Posted Dec 10, 2006 4:27 pm |

Hasn't voted | I've only been on Devil's once, and it was East to West--no rope needed, it was fairly easy and safe, but certainly exposed in spots. | | Posted Dec 12, 2006 4:35 pm |
