Awesome climb with great views! Great introduction to multi-pitch climbing in a beautiful area. Wasn't too hard, had lots of fun in great weather.

Highly enjoyable, though regrettably short. Nice exposure and a sweet summit block.

Seemed a little easier than 5.7, but very fun. Great outing for a fun and easy day!

Climbed it with Allison. I led the first 2 pitches and Allison led the quartz crystal pitch. This was Allison's first Sierra rock climb. Fun times!

Route Climbed: North Arete
Date Climbed: August 7, 2005

Climbed with SCMA members Murray Z and Cathy R as a party of three. The crux is just before the little pine tree (in the first 20 feet of the route). From there on, it is smooth sailing. The crystal section was neat. We unroped here. What I enjoyed the most of this climb was the short but exciting ridge traverse.

Enjoyable scrambling. Tricky route finding between the west chutes.

This was only my second multi-pitch climb, but seemed a lot easier than my first (Bear Creek Spire). The crystal quartz section up top was fun to climb, but lots of loose rock. Great time!

I think I climbed the west face if memory serves me. Came in on the wrong side of the peak and ended up a few feet below the peak, just a little too exposed for me that day.

Good climbing, terrifyingly loose. I thought I was sure to kill climbers below. Crystal band was awesome. We climbed up to the highest point, crossing some of the best 4th class alpine ridge I've had in a while.

After the previous days 18 1/2 hour march I was looking for an easy alternate for the 2nd day of the Sierra Challenge. This fit the ticket nicely, was a cool climb and had great views to boot. At the summit I enjoyed a cold Corona kindly donated by someone at the trailhead.

Really fine routes below. Spent the afternoon cragging then ran up the arete before dark. Very woo woo route. Thought I was walking to heaven on the crystal band. However, the loose rock was from hell.

don't know if we started in the correct spot. climbed a chimney to the right of the buttress toe. fun climbing until the Crystal Pitch, where everything was loose.

not interested in peakbagging, so didn't go to the summit.

Bagged it via the "one tree couloir" 3rd class chute on the west side. Then followed easy third class rock on/just below the ridgeline to the summit. Took a direct route down the west face from the summit down some fun third class rock.

The route the Croft guide shows seemed easier than 5.7. Maybe we were off route at the start. The crystal band was loose, but cool. Highlight was the ridge traverse.
