Cut Bank Valley
I took a photo from nearly this exact same spot in August of 2009. The first hour of the climb from Cut Bank Campground towards Mad Wolf Mountain involves a lot of bushwhacking through dense forest. Eventually open meadows on Cut Bank Ridge yield well rewarded views of the Cut Bank Valley to the west. The large red bulk near center is Mount James; geographically significant, although much smaller Triple Divide Peak is the small pyramid below and to the left. The next high point to the right is Amphitheater Mountain, and on the extreme left of the photo is the bulky Bad Marriage massif.
