DebPowPow to da Summit  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Feb 20, 2011

Took my honey on a XC ski trip in SD County. Skinned up and skied down on beautiful powder. Got snowed on a bit on the way up, a bit of wind, lost in a cloud but when the sun came out it was spectacular!

kavakVia Fire Road  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 26, 2010

I hiked to the top with my brother-in-law and his son. There was ice on the trees and antenna which made for a surreal picture on top. You could hear the cracking of the ice as it melted and fell to the ground. I was only able to touch the top with my hand as the rock was covered with a thick veneer of ice.

Literally hiked this with my 3 month old son on my chest. Beautiful views back in the day, but there is something wrong with a paved path to the top of any summit.

DebUSE the Road!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 28, 2010

First time skinning up Cuyamaca....had the place to myself. Was fairly icy and shot-out with deep bootprints, but I made it work. Beautiful sunny day, got myself a suntan and a great work-out! Feels kinda crazy to go XC skiing in San Diego County. :)

MiroslavaAvoid the road!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 4, 2010

Took the paved road up. It was sad to look at all the burned trees. Being quite bored I fell asleep half the way up. Missed all the views from the top. On the way down we decided to take a trail that went to the saddle north of the peak. That was much more fun!
It became quite cold after the sun went down. Had to cry a bit so that my father would carry me in his arms. Much warmer this way!

Livelife4SummitsGreat Start to 2009 Climbing Year...  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 31, 2009

Took my girl Jeri on her first real hike...good for her that the asphalt trail is relatively easy for a beginner approach. Nice short day trip.

DebAzalea Trail Loop  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Dec 21, 2008

Perfect day for snowshoeing! Found at least 2' of snow to the top and totally warm temps shortly after sunrise. Had the place to myself for the trip up, but encountered the typically "trailer park trash" in jeans and sweatshirts on my descent and in the Paso Picacho Campground parking lot at end of trip. YUK! Give me some wine!!

Date Climbed: Oct 4, 2008

Been meaning to come here for years. Big fire kept us away for awhile until the land healed a bit. Nice easy hike, nice views despite oncoming storm front. Stonewall across the way looks a lot more interesting, so we'll be back.

Hiked up to the summit several times, before the devastating Cedar Fire. Nice to see the photos of the forest recovering.

Fins129Close to SD  Sucess!

Been up a number of times. The best way is to take the north trail to the top.
