out of season  Sucess!

Climbed up from Dalhouse-Hatton and down towards Ratnapura. The top was a little chilly with gusts and heavy cloud cover. Except for about 2.5km on the Ratnapura trail, the entire stretch was on stone or cement stairs and sidewalks.

This is a very special mountain and recommended for religious pilgrims or others looking for a cultural experience.

Since the holy footprint is only available for viewing during 'climbing' season, probably not much reason to visit during the other half of the year, unless you like walking up stairs in the rain. There are other hills and tracks that are more suited for hikers and nature-lovers.

Tropical traverse

Not exactly a typical alpine start but totally different and enjoyable. Easy stroll for sunrise both sides of the island along the pilgrimage trail and then traverse over the Carney track.
