Del Campo traverse from Gothic Peak
The traverse is easy only to the Del Campo part. Then, it's a very steep and bushy climb to get to the normal climbing route from Foggy Lake. Here most of my group turned around.
On the way down, we took the normal track to Foggy Lake, much easier.
The climb itself isn't too bad. We didn't use ice axe or crampons, even though I brought both. There is a snow field, but not too steep. The final scramble has a couple of large rocks that require some maneuvering.

Gorgeous day for a combo. Del Campo is definitely one of the most best scrambles I've done so far. The exposure made it really fun. Headed down to the saddle and went up Gothic, which was a bit looser. Swam in Foggy Lake before going down. Awesome trip!

Scenic
Gothic Basin itself is quite scenic and views improve as you ascend the peak. Really crowded area but the views helped make up for that.

Del Campo: A beginners first peak.
This being my first climb of hopefully many, I can tell you the exposure is quite a lot for me just starting, but an incredible view from the top, a challenge, and fear that was overcome. The mountain from the base near Foggy Lake looks absolutely massive compared to pictures and quite intimidating, but as you approach the summit block and get off the slick snow, the chute that you follow up to the left becomes smaller, and the supposed Class 3 rock is all that is on your mind. Overall great climb, and as it being my first, one to remember.

I was amazed how many people were visiting the peak, similar to what I experienced several weeks earlier on Sloan Peak. I think the word is out on these cool peaks near the Mountain Loop Highway. Nice summit with a fun scramble.

Standard Route
Had extra time when we arrived at Gothic Basin, so decided to do attempt up Del Campo. Route was very straightforward, with a fun scramble up the summit block. Though very steep, there were excellent holds, and I definitely would rate it as class 3 rather than 4. Great views!

Fun and straightforward
After a stressful week it was nice to be able to quickly escape to the beautiful Gothic Basin area. I found nothing on the scramble that exceeded class 3 and overall thought it was quite enjoyable and non intimidating. Very accessible climb in a stunning area!
Was expecting it to be a lot harder than it was. Enjoyed the whole scramble.

Foggy but sun at summit
We climbed up the Gothic Basin trail, dumped our backpacks at the lake, and climbed right into the clouds, ascending the main route on a firm snowfield. Midway, we heard a slide break above us, but maybe a little left. There was nowhere to scramble to. We just stood in our crampons and waited for it to pass. Which it did, indeed off to the left. We got to the summit and sunbathed a bit, looking at surrounding summits. Before we got sunburned, we put on all our wet clothes, returned to the base, grabbed our packs, and hiked out. No way we were camping overnight in that damp weather. We were home for cocoa three hours later.

Finally!
I've had my eye on this one for years and was finally able to make it out here on a HOT summer day! It was everything I had hoped it would be, well besides the absurdly hot part. I took a bike for the first mile and did the main trail and SE ridge. The scrambling was amazing, super solid rock and reliable holds. I probably picked a class 4 line up the scramble section starting at top of the talus field. Super fun scrambling. I had planned on doing Gothic the same day, but decided to save to for later so I'd have an excuse to come back soon. Gothic Basin is BEAUTIFUL! Loved it! I'll be back for sure.

Del Campo and Gothic Peak
Did this one as part of a long (14 hours) day hike during which we also hiked to the top of Gothic Peak. Weather was hot but views amazingly clear - could see nearly every major summit in the cascades. The North West face of this peak has some amazing exposure - I couldn't even fit it all in one vertical camera shot from Gothic. A truly gorgeous mountain. This has to be one of the top scrambles for easily accessible peaks in the cascades. Worth it!

Quality Peak
Anyone who is into scrambling who visits the Mountain Loop Highway should climb this peak. Great views with a quality scramble.
Total snow cover from lake to summit rocks. Took short class 4 up out of notch, then standard scramble to summit. Great mountain for only being 6,600 ft. Upper part of trail was somewhat rugged. More enjoyable than I thought it would be.
