Descending Silver Lake basin...
Descending Silver Lake basin after spending the night at the ghost town of the same name. The clouds are the aftermath of a raging San Juan monsoon storm that roared through the area over night. The San Juans haven't been this green for 5 years! Summer, 1984.

If I remember right, this is the trip that we stayed the night in the power house. There was supposed to be an extraordinary meteor shower, and we were excited to see it from the that vantage point, but the deluge of rain made it impossible.
It was a beautiful area, and very interesting hike. Good memories. Hopefully it remains as intact as possible for future generations of hikers.
