Descending the long scree... | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Descending the long scree slope S of the Buckhorn saddle to the Marmot Pass trail takes about 15 minutes, while the ascent takes 1-2 hours. While the lower 1/3 of the slope is sparsely vegetated, and the upper 1/3 has some outcrops of sharp, shattered shales, the central 1/3 is very loose gravel/sand scree. This is a view of the slope from the saddle (~1824m/6000') between the 2 summits of Buckhorn mountain, taken on June 9, 2002. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | hgrapid | great photo | |
Voted 10/10 | Spread the word. These are the kind of photos we need on summitpost. It is informative and gets me interested in the climb. First rate. | | Posted Jan 29, 2004 12:44 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Everyone except the dog looks like they are skipping down the mountain. Must've been a happy day or something. | | Posted Jan 29, 2004 2:11 pm |
