Desert Grazers

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Desert Grazers
Thanks to their 9-stage digestive system Desert Bighorn Sheep are able to get nutrients from low quality plants that other animals could not live on.

They can eat large amounts of forage rapidly, then climb the cliffs where they can rechew and digest their food and be safe from predators.
Also, their teeth grow throughout life.

Pine Creek area of Red Rocks, Nevada. 2007.
