Desert Peak and the Newfoundland Mountains

Desert Peak and the Newfoundland Mountains

Desert Peak and the Newfoundland Mountains from the high point of Floating Island near the Silver Island Mountains. Desert Peak is about 25 miles away and approximately the right 1/3 of the Newfoundland Mountains is in the Hill Air Force Range Military Area. The Salt Flats sometimes have just enough water on their surface to give this reflection. 2/17/2007

Death Brings New Life

Michael, had you not mentioned the reflection, I would have missed this remarkable image. The shadow and the foreground commanded my attention. The rest was part of the sky...I had been trying to find Desert Peak below the "sky'. Thank you!! And I have only found this picture by reading your obituary today. I miss you, yet never met you. You are now on my Favorites and I will be going thru your pictures, thanking God that you were here and for the effect you have had on others... and now myself, as well.
