Desert Peak - western approach
Looking north: This pic illustrates nicely where we parked (about 5300') near an old mine. The 4x4 road you see in this shot goes for about a mile to a junction with another 4x4 road that descends to the flats below and that section is close to a mile as well. You could hike up from the flats by just following the jeep road to the point from where I took this shot. A saddle is just behind me and when you hit the saddle, follow rough animal paths up the ridge to the east until you hit the main ridgeline.
