Desert reward

One of the spring treats you get if you take on the hike to Wallula Gap Overlook is the flowering of the Balsam Root. Timing is important so don't go too late in the spring nor too early. For a bit more info on this plant, click HERE.
The balsam root is but one of the flora you'll find in this dry environment and to me is one of the enjoyable aspects of eastern washington.
