This is a great peak and a fun climb, but how can people call it Class 5 by the standard route? Have they been on real Class 5 routes, or is the Wasatch idea of Class 5 more liberal than that in other places? (I guess one thing in Utah must be liberal) I would call the climbs to the summit towers Class 3+/4. Stay away if you don't like exposure, though, especially on the ridge above Cecret Lake.

This was fun. Good 4th class scrambling and easier than I thought it would be. I climbed over all of the summits to make sure that I made it to the top. I couldn't tell which one was higher. I think it was the middle summit.

I didn't reach the highest summit, but I did reach the lower of the 3 pinnacles. I was hiking alone and heavily comtemplated going for the upper 2 peaks, but my common sense prevailed (thank Heavens!). Scrambled around the back side of the upper 2 (with the view of Pittsburg Lake) then ascended up. Will try again next year!!!

Nice fun scramble. My friend Peter and I were looking for something short yet fun to do, and this scramble was perfect. Good opportunities along the way to try various routes and make the route harder :)

I didn't like the loose rock much, though

Woke up Sunday and decided for a short but exciting hike, so off to Devils Castles I went. Had good weather and thanks for the steps cut into the snow\ice on the switchbacks the climb went well. Other than a mountain goat I had the ridge\peak to myself. After passing the helivac retrieving someone off the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon I kept thinking of hand graps while climbing the class V areas.

Awesome climb! Only a half day, yet some of the wildest terrain in all the Wasatch. Traverse really wasn't as scary as I'd expected...still fun, challenging scramble. Descent to east was more tedious and challenging than expected.

I climb this several times each year to practice my Class 4 and low Class 5 moves with exposure. The views are great as well.
