They installed a "bridge" and "crow's nest" on the Devil's Chair? was that due to liability or safety
reasons?

I haven't visited the Punchbowl since I was a Tenderfoot in the Boy Scouts.

I used to go sport climbing here. Years later I took my young son hiking in this area...and thought I spotted a Sasquatch. Seriously! I later researched it, and discovered there had been "bigfoot sightings" up in Cooper Canyon, not far from the DP. No doubt all the sightings were merely bears. But then again...you never know.
