| Our family trip to the Midsouth and back included a stop to visit family in Castle Rock. I managed to squeeze in some enjoyable exercise, scenic views, and historical information for myself and my dogs. Unfortunately this was the highest peak I managed to hike in Colorado this time around....lots of scenic driving and short hikes in scenic areas though. | |

| There was some snow and mud on the trail. Quite a few hikers out here today. It was pretty windy and chilly up there, but the views were great all around. | |

| My one and only hike with my brother who now lives in Australia. I was new to Colorado and had tried to climb it with my wife a few weekends before and aborted because of lack of knowledge that there was a trail and stairs up the rocky portions. | |

| Nice hike through some beautiful rock formations, to a summit that offers up views of the plains to the east, Pikes Peak and the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the south, Thunder Butte and the Hayman fire burn area to the southwest, the Tarryall, Kenosha Mountains to the west and way to the north - Longs Peak. Awesome views from such a low elevation summit. | |

| I enjoyed the history of this peak as much as I enjoyed the hike. Views go on forever and ever. Kind of an evil name for a mountain, though. | |

| Summited with my wife and son (in the kid carrier) on Memorial Day weekend 2007. Great hike with incredible views. I would recommended going on a less crowded weekend. | |
