I took a side trip from Yosemite to visit Devils Postpile. Not many people out hiking in October. The hexagonal pattern at the top is pretty neat. The columns resemble a mini Devils Tower. I also hiked to Rainbow Falls. Very beautiful.

My first night in Mammoth. I took the latest bus that went out there and got to the top around 6:30 pm. It was nice because I was the only person there.

Route Climbed: Trail Date Climbed: June 26, 2004Very interesting formation, hiked down the trail to where it meets with the John Muir trail and took that back around to the rangers station.
