Nippletop Slide to Dial  Sucess!

We took the Nippletop Slide and looped over to Dial. Conditions were sub-optimal to say the least. This made for a tricky, and at points, scary ascent of the Nippletop Slide, as it was icy enough for need an ax, but the ice was not thick enough to get a good bite with the axes. Still, we made it without incident and had a fantastic weekend!

Busy Day  Sucess!

Hiked up Lake Road and took the Gill Brook trail, summited Nippletop Mt first, then Dial Mt and Bear Den on my way down. Great day to be out, lots of people on the trail too. Great views from Dial Mt, especially of the Great Range.

Bleh  Sucess!

Hiked Dial Mountain 4020' starting from the Lake Road Trail. Weather was clear but a storm moved in quickly and continued throughout the day. We started around 8am and finished around 3pm. It was a long haul but an enjoyable one.

Fun hike  Sucess!

Completed Dial and Nippletop making the loop with Elk Pass. After a great range traverse the previous weekend, this one seemed like a piece of cake! Nice views and good company made for a wonderful day despite overcast skies.

Dial Mountain  Sucess!

Climbed with Nippletop via the H.G. Leach Trail from the Ausable Club. There were raspberry bushes along most of the trail, especially around the west shoulder of Noonmark. The summit provided suprisingly good views and we had most of the hike to ourselves.
