WestActually you are looking west rather than east in this photo. Peak 9395 is also known as Polaris Point and has an SP page.

Re: WestDoh! Thanks. Don't know why I put that.
I always call it Polaris Peak too. Wonder why the maps never do, it's a pretty significant one. Looks like I voted on it too so I should know it. From Petes Point, it sure looked like it had a big snow-filled crater up top too.

Re: WestI do that all the time. I must be somewhat dislexic as I'm always switching left and right in my captions.
Yes, it is a neat mountain and the view of it from Petes Pt. is spectacular. I was on top as the sun set and it got dark fast. The summit area is very large with about subtle three points. At least thats what I thought I saw in the dim light. Walked back to camp in the dark, which fortunately was just below on the east flank of the mountain.

Re: WestI'll be back to knock off this one in a couple years. We had to bail on it this past year but I want to go back and hit everything from Polaris to Cusick and spend some time in the Lakes Basin. I'm working on a trip report from this past summer in the Wallowas now that might interest you (when I get it finished/edited). Thanks!
