Never thought of Greece as much of a winter destination until I saw some of these pics. Greece seems to have a far amount of forestand some alpine terrain. Outside Mt. Olympus I never thought about it having alpine terrain. What is the typical snowline in winter? Does it ever snow in Athens? Great shot though as well as some of your others.

I friend of mine was in Glasgow for a postgraduate degree, and he organised a slide show for his friends there. Everybody was expecting to see beaches and bikinis and they were quite surprised to see ice climbing photos.

The Greek terrain is mostly mountainous. Most winter months there is snow above 1500m. Snowfalls even on sea level are common but the snow doesn't last long there. Athens sees 5-10 days of snowfall but it rarely settles (mostly on the northern suburbs and Mt. Parnitha, soon to be posted).

A week ago there were icicles hanging from my balcony (south suburbs) and this is a first here! Oh, and thank you for the vote
