| Up the West Ridge, then on to Jepson & Charlton. Perfect weather all day with no wind at all. On the way back from the summit of Dobbs, managed to get going too far southwest and off the west ridge because I wasn't paying attention. It started to get steeper than I remebered on the way up so I knew something was wrong. I was able to bushwhack back to the west ridge, but probably cost myself half an hour. Maybe next time I'll look at the compass in my pocket before heading off just assuming I know where I'm going. Probably not though. | |

| It took us 12 hours car-to-car to do this route in unconsolidated snow. We were only on the West Ridge for the final 500 vertical feet. Here is my trip report. | |

| I along with my friend, Chris, approached Dobbs by descending from Jepson. We did East Dobbs first then walked to Dobbs and then re-traced our path back up to the San Bernardino Divide Trail and on to Little Charlton. | |

| Did this on Christmas Eve. I attempted it about a year ago and gave up hopelessly bogged down in bushes trying to follow the route specified on Garmin's topo software. That was my last time using the GPS for route finding. This time I took the direct ridge route and was able to circumvent most of the bushes. Plenty of snow from about 9K up. Perfect view of Jepson, San Gorgonio, Dragon Head and Bighorm from the summit. | |

| Hiked up the West Ridge from Vivian Creek Camp. Today was a rare Sept. winter-type day with rain most of day, some snow and so cold that we all had icicles sticking to our clothing and packs. | |

| Dave, Mark, Alex, Steve Sauter and I hiked up the south ridge of Dobbs. Dave & Mark turned around mid way as Dave wasn't feeling good. We met up with Mike Ostby at the summit. Then, we all descended via Dobbs Ridge. We pigged out afterwards at La Casa Maya in Mentone. | |

| Hiked a few years back. Meet friends Miguel, Alex, Steven, Mark and Dave at the summit who hiked up a different route (South Ridge). We all came down via Dobbs West Ridge. Needed snow shoes. ------------------------- Climbed via Dobbs West Ridge 2/4/2009 with Miguel Forjan. Continued on to summit Jepson and San Gorgonio. Down Vivian Creek Trail. | |
