Downstream Climbs

Downstream Climbs

This is a pretty crummy picture, I know, but it serves a useful purpose. You will be atop the Trojan Wall when this scene is directly across the river from you. Hike a little more downstream and start looking for a feasible way down to the climbing area. Incidentally, the cliff pictured holds some named routes, and they are a few yards downstream from the Degree 101 crag. The black route is 45-Degree Downclimb (5.0). Red is 5.7 Old 98. Blue is 5.4-5.7 Moss Wall, and yellow is 5.2 Donovan. Great Falls area, MD/VA-- May 2007
