The trail mostly follows old logging roads, making it one of the easiest trails in the Whites. It gets slightly steeper when it finally leaves the brook, but the switchbacks smooth out that part pretty well too. Would make a great descent trail or trail run.
I climbed this way because I wanted to visit Fletcher's Cascade first. There's an easy bushwhack where the Fletcher Cascade Trail crosses a stream, the Drakes Brook trail is only about a hundred yards away.
