Alaska - Nome has no trees to speak of, it's
located on a treeless tundra on the edge of
the Bering Sea.

However, while there I found some sizeable
chunks of driftwood on the beach. My friend said it
had floated over there from East Asia.

Boy, a person could really build a serious
bonfire with that stuff!
