SloMotionWaist Deep Snow on Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Dec 19, 2010

SloMotion

Trifecta of Blanket, Dripping Springs, and Bent Arm. Originally went up the manway, but GPS indicated I would have a 300 yrd slog through dense Rhodo's in waist deep snow...backed out and went down the trail about a quarter-mile to get even w/ the summit and pushed up through the brush...easily a Bu4 rating w/ no views...but a severe cornice had formed along the ridgeline. That was interesting-for the eastern US.

Took the manway this time, which requires about 200 yards of serious bushwhacking along the ridge to the summit. This is a dense, dense rhododendron forest.
