Just followed the newly bladed trail/road to the high point. Was a warm day and no one around. The road/trail was a bit confusing, just follow J.Edgar Hoover, just keep going right.

Wow
It was 95 degrees, and so humid it felt like you could cut into the air with a spoon. It was a nice and quiet short hike to the top, and the owners did a great job throwing little bits of history about the property on the walk up.

Driftin' on Driskill
Part of the fun with this highpoint is finding it and enjoying the solitude of the area. I saw no one else from the time I left the little town nearby until I summited it. I hiked up the mountain in the late afternoon in very comfortable sunny skies. The summit was very well maintained and the view from just a bit down the path was nice. Overall, Driskill Mt. was worth the trip. Then I lost my ass at the roulette wheel in Shreveport. Darn!

Nice day trip from DFW
The weather was perfect for my 4 month old son's first road trip and first highpoint. My wife and I took the dogs along as well and enjoyed this short family hike despite the logging noises emanating from across the road.

DRISKILL MTN
THAT GUMBO MUD IS REALLY HARD TO SHED. THE RAIN STOPPED LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO DO THE SUMMIT AND RETREAT BACK TO THE CAR WHERE I IMMEDIATELY BAGGED MY BOOTS IN A PLASTIC SACK

Watch Out For The Mud!!!
It was a nice morning, but the first half of the dirt road/ path to the summit was a mudpit because it rained the night before . That red clay mud gets everywhere, and sticks like glue!!! The State Highpoint was worth the walk (and the mud), and the false summits were also enjoyable jaunts.

New Years Eve (Afternoon)
Hiked the .6 mile trail to the summit and said a little prayer for my father-in-law. Should have brought my camera, it was a nice leg stretcher and a new sign by the church, summit kiosk and benches, and a good cleared view over to Jordan Mountain all apparently done in 2006. Looked like the benches were brand new. Summit cairn was still there and I added a rock to it. Nice little stop, Highpoint #6.

In the dark
Arrived on the 20th at 10pm. Tried to find our way in the fog and darkness but then the rain came and we retreated through the mud. Spent the night sleeping under a shelter in town.. then went back through shin deep mud in the morning.

Main Route
The hike up was annoying to me. After a week of travel, and having done Texas the day before, I just wanted to get this over with. The summit had a picture of Jack Longacre on it. Always wondered what the guy looked like. Plus I saw this cool little lizard there, so I guess it was OK.

Considering the number of dissapointing highpoints in the Southeast, this 535 feet summit is about as good as could be expected. The walk up, while not at all challenging, at least helped you feel like you were climbing to a summit.
My brother and I where driving from Dallas, TX back to Atlanta and decided it would be an easy side trip to climb the LA and AL highpoints. We exited the interstate and made our way to the church as described on the highpointers webpage. We left the parking lot and made our way past the metal gate and down the path. I think we went the long way around. After wondering around in the woods for 30 to 45 minutes, we finally saw a sign way up in a tree with an arrow pointing the way. We followed that trail and were soon at the highpoint marker. All in all a nice little adventure for my 5th highpoint.

They said they wanted to see my name in the posts so I decided to start adding my summits into this website. Nice hike, hot day. Who'd have guessed there was a hill in Louisiana! This was my third U.S. highpoint.

My son and I had a nice, warm walk to the top of Driskill. No other people around. The summit is not high, but there is an obvious uphill slope to the trail so you feel like you're on top when you get there. The summit is wooded and I imagine quite sticky and unpleasant in the summer.
