There is a dirt road leading all the way to the Upper Yankee Boy Basin, and I drove it in the past (using my Toyota 4 runner), but the trail towards the Wright's Lake is so spectacular, so we preferred to walk.
The dirt road is very hard, and I do not enjoy bouncing around in my car.
