Stunning views. Walking through the pumice was a little tiring but the view from Dutton Cliff was downright AMAZING. Well worth the off trail walkup.

Parked off the edge of the road pretty much due south of the cliff and hiked up the ridge. I don't know if it was because I'd already climbed Mount Scott that morning or what, but I was beat by the time I got to the top. There were two sort of obvious cliff edges and I wasn't sure which one was the "true" high point, so I climbed them both, then had a nice jog back down the ridge to the car.

Would probably be more fun in the snow, if you had the heart to hike out that far on the rim road.

Some funny smells on my way up, kind of like wet dog, which seemed odd on such a dry day. Meh, it was a pleasant outing and the fifth of six peaks to bag in my 32 hour stretch of climbing time.

Rico, Kyle, and I climbed to summit of Dutton Cliffs from Sun Notch trailhead. Ascended slopes east of trail. 2 1/2 hours up at 8 year-old pace.
