	Hasn't voted	Hi Charles, Actually there are at least two moderate routes on this 2500 foot wall. One of the routes "The East Face" is only 5.6, and and a varition to that is "The East Bttress" rated 5.9. The only problem with this face is that it get much traffic by ill prepared climbers. Many people think because it's easy they are going to finish it quickly. A lot of times that thinking does not pan-out. There have been many deaths on this wall. Thank for dipping... Marc

I sure like that area; Bishop, Lone Pine, etc.
If I had to live in California, that would be the area I would choose!

	Hasn't voted	Thank you very much, Troy. This is an old photo I took during one of my "solo mountaineering years" some twenty years ago. I have no doubt you can handle The Mountaineers Route on Whitney. It goes up the gully to the right of the east face.
