| jdmorehouse | Eagle Twice in Two Days ![]() | |
| I went out there on a Friday with the idea of climbing Eagle in the afternoon, camping over night and meeting the early departing LVMC group (they were leaving Las Vegas at the ungodly hour of five a.m.) on their way to Brown, with a follow up to Eagle. So I climbed Eagle on Friday and loved it. Steep, but mostly good rock, and a excellent narrow class 3 summit ridge. Fantastic views. On Saturday I went out and climbed Brown with the LVMC group, and then came back and climbed Eagle again. It was worth it. Short, but very sweet. | ||

| WOLFrising | Quite a fun surprise! ![]() Date Climbed: Feb 2, 2013 | |
| Winter 2013 Climbed with Eli before he had to go to work. This was a FUN climb, surprisingly great rock for this area. We took the central gully from the west right from the parking area. On the way up we chose the left chute in the gully, and there was some class III and a not so fun hillside traverse to the saddle. From there on to the summit block was easy. We took the direct route over the block from there, very exposed (maybe a slight IV near the top?)! On the return we took the next chute over from the one we took up. Much more pleasant, easy class III descent. A highlight of my winter in DVNP! | ||

| So. Much. Fun. Scrambled up this one on Thanksgiving morning before ruining all the hard work with a big feast back at camp. One of my favorite desert summits thus far. Stick to that rock like velcro! Bring gloves! | ||

| tdoughty | 2nd time's the Charm! ![]() Date Climbed: Feb 19, 2011 | |
| The winds were not as strong as when I attempted this six years ago. And this time I followed the standard route rather than attempting the summit block from the SE. Left the car at 4:00 pm so the after watching the sunset from the summit I had a headlamp descent of the lower half of the peak. Great beginning of a 3-day trip that included a snowy NY Mtn and Chuckwalla | ||

| Hiked with Branch Whitney (meetup hike) and other 7 hikers. It was beautiful day and could see Spring Mt.area,Sheep Range & Telescope Peak. All those peaks are covered with snow. Nice scramble hike. Its over 100 miles from Vegas, but worth it. | ||

| This turned out to be a lot of fun, even though the mileage on this hike seemed extremely short. Also, there are prairie falcons living on this mountain. The photos from our hike up there are here, enjoy: Eagle Mountain hike | ||

| This is fun route to a superb peak. I think it's better than Moapa, which it is often compared to. With mostly solid rock and great vistas from the summit, everyone should enjoy climbing this mountain. | ||

| Didn't make it. It was so windy that I was crawling along the summit ridge to keep from getting blown off. Decided that discretion was warranted. I'll be back. What a huge chunk of limestone!! | ||

| Followed the chute up to a saddle, and then the crest of the summit ridge the rest of the way--an easy scramble, but with some enjoyable third class. | ||

| Went straight up along the spine of the summit ridge, rather than look for the easier variation I'd read about. Made for a good time - the ridge is a treat. I left a wool cap up on that mountain somewhere...gotta look for it next time I'm there. 3/15/09 - returned with DB and Ellen & Aaron Johnson. A wonderful half-day out with good folks. | ||
