Be prepared for some serious bushwhacking if you try this route in the summer. The roads are OK, but once you get onto the steep ridge, there is low brush (like blueberries) that almost never lets up. I got to about 4200 feet and decided to turn back because the bushwhacking was so exhausting.
What A Great Spring Climb! Date Climbed: Apr 7, 2012
The route from the east (West Fork Miller River mining road-trail, Coney CreekConey Lake ridges) was completely covered in snowpack and made the ascent fairly straightforward. Dave, Derrick, me, Fletcher, Michael, Joanna, Holly and Paloma all had a great time, with some spectacular views and decent snow conditions. It was a grind, and very steep, but well worth it.
6h30m from car to summit. 5h0m from summit to car. With all the various bumps we went over, the route was over 5000' of cumulative elevation gain. What a great day!
